The Kentucky Department of Revenue announced a special examination will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2016, to qualify prospective candidates for the vacant office of Grayson County Property Valuation Administrator (PVA) as required by Kentucky Revised Statute (KRS) 132.380(1).
The examination, which is open to Grayson County residents only, will be held at the Kentucky Association of Counties (KACo) Building, 400 Englewood Drive, Frankfort, Kentucky. Identification will be required.
Persons who pass the examination will be qualified and eligible for appointment by the governor to serve as PVA until the general election of November 8, 2016. All persons who qualify will also be eligible to run in the November 8, 2016, general election for the remaining unexpired term of Grayson County PVA. That term ends Dec. 3, 2018.
Applicants must meet certain criteria as set forth in Section 100 of the Kentucky Constitution. Applicants must:
· Be at least 24 years of age;
· Be a citizen of Kentucky;
· Have resided in the state at least two years preceding the election; and
· Have resided in Grayson County at least one year preceding the election.
The written examination is based on verbal and mathematical skills. All materials necessary to take the examination, including calculators, are supplied.
