Meals on wheels for county youth

Starting on Monday, June 13 and going through July 28, children in Grayson County can receive free meals from the county’s Meals on the Bus Summer Lunch Tour and public schools.

Throughout the summer on Mondays through Fridays, school buses will deliver meals to all children 18 years and younger at various locations. The buses will be open to any kids or teens to enter and receive a nutritious meal.

The bus schedule is as follows:

Old Caneyville School Playground at 10:15 – 10:30

Short Creek Store at 10:45 – 11:00

Sunset Drive (end of the lane) at 11:20 – 11:35

Leitchfield Firefighter’s Park at 11:45 – 12:00 *Restock

Parkway Villa (Penner) Apartments at 12:30 – 12:45

Cave Mill Apartments at 12:55 – 1:10

Anneta Fire Department at 1:25 – 1:40

Grayson County Middle School (GCMS), Grayson County High School (GCHS), and Wilkey and Clarkson Elementary schools will be serving children breakfast and lunch as well on various days.

Breakfast at all locations will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Lunch will be served from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Grayson County High School, Grayson County Middle School, and Wilkey Elementary.

GCHS will serve meals June 9 through June 17, July 18 through July 21, and July 25 through July 28. GCMS will serve meals from July 11 through July 15 and on July 20. On July 21, breakfast only will be served at GCMS. Wilkey Elementary will serve meals June 8 through July 8. Clarkson Elementary will serve breakfast only June 8 through July 8.
