Grayson and Breckinridge County Fire Departments recently turned in over $77,000 during the 63rd annual WHAS 11 Crusade for Children.
During the campaign last weekend, local firefighters took to the streets and turned in that money Sunday afternoon, June 5.
The Leitchfield Fire Department hosted the event at the Ronald Hudson Leitchfield Fire Station 1 on Brandenburg Road while WBKO collected the money from nine Grayson and Breckinridge County fire departments.
From Grayson Grayson County:
The Clarkson Fire Department turned in seven bags of money totaling $5,211.30; the Wax Volunteer Fire Department turned in three bags totaling $2,422; the East Grayson County Volunteer Fire Department had one totaling $5,391.66; the Anneta Volunteer Fire Department had three bags totaling $6,549.42; and the Leitchfield Fire Department turned in 11 bags totaling $12,513.28.
Fire departments from Breckinridge County also joined the group in turning in money collected. The McDaniels Fire Department turned in six bags of money totaling $6,549.42; Hardinsburg turned in six bags totaling $15,000; Webster turned in five bags totaling $3,413.48; and Harned turned in 10 bags totaling $24,013.13.
