Leitchfield Utilities Superintendent Dwight Embry last week presented his recommendation for the engineering company for the city water plant expansion.
During the regularly scheduled Leitchfield Utilities Commission meeting on Thursday, June 2, Embry said he and Water Treatment Plant Manager Darren Dennison recommend that Leitchfield Utilities hire engineering company Cann-Tech, LLC for the water plant expansion.
Following Embry’s recommendation, Leitchfield Utilities Chairman Robert Crawford recommended Embry contact Cann-Tech to request that the company prepare a proposal for the water plant expansion project to present to the Utilities Commission.
In other business:
*The Utilities Commission approved Leitchfield Utilities’ third quarter Fiscal Year 2015-2016 budget report.
According to Crawford, Leitchfield Utilities’ year-to-date (end of March) revenue is $4,911,720, expenses are $4,864,633, and net income is $47,000.
*The Utilities Commission approved the first readings of its Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Amended Budget and Fiscal Year 2016-2017 Proposed Budget ordinances.
*The Utilities Commission voted to keep Kentucky League of Cities as its insurance provider for Fiscal Year 2016-2017 pending approval from the Leitchfield City Council.
*Embry said the new Utilities dump truck was to arrive on Monday, June 5.
