A tractor-trailer overturned on Saint Anthony Road, sending the driver to the hospital on Thursday afternoon, May 19.

At around 3:28 p.m. on Thursday, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), Grayson County Emergency Medical Services (GCEMS), and Anneta Volunter Fire Department personnel responded to the scene of the crash at 968 Saint Anthony Rd. in Leitchfield.

According to investigating GCSO Sergeant Bryan Hammons, a 2017 Freightliner, driven by Ricky Jessie, 49, of Glasgow, KY, was travelling eastbound on Saint Anthony Road when it met other vehicles.

As it did so, the Freightliner moved too close to the edge of the roadway and dropped off the road, where it then overturned onto its passenger side in front of a residence at 968 Saint Anthony Rd., Hammons said.

Jessie, who was wearing a seatbelt, complained of head and neck pain as a result of the crash and was transported from the scene by GCEMS to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The Freightliner, which had been hauling concrete blocks, was disabled as a result of the crash and removed from the scene by Stevensons Wrecker Service.

No other injuries were reported.
