Primary election ballot released

The ballot for the upcoming Tuesday, May 17 primary election has been released.

The ballot will appear as follows for Grayson County’s registered Republicans:

2nd Congressional District

United States Senator

Rand Paul

Stephen Howard Slaughter

James R. Gould

And the ballot will appear as follows for Grayson County’s registered Democrats:

2nd Congressional District

President of the United States

Martin J. O’Malley

Bernard “Bernie” Sanders

Hillary Clinton

Roque Rocky De La Fuente

“Uncommitted”

United States Senator

Rory Houlihan

Jeff Kender

Ron Leach

Tom Recktenwald

State Senator

5th Senatorial District

The deadline to register to vote was last Tuesday, April 19.

According to Grayson County Clerk Sherry Weedman, the absentee ballot voting machine is available now in the County Clerk’s Office, which is located on the third floor of the Leitchfield Public Square courthouse and open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Additionally, mailout ballots are now available by request, but they must be requested by Tuesday, May 10.

All of Grayson County’s registered Republicans and Democrats may report to their regular polling places to vote in the May 17 primary election.

Anyone with questions regarding the primary election is encouraged to call Weedman’s office anytime at 270-259-3201.
