Turley charged with auto theft

A Radcliff man was indicted in Grayson County Circuit Court on June 2 for allegedly stealing a vehicle and personal property from a Grayson County woman.

35-year-old Brian C. Carman Turley was charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition of an automobile valued at between $500 and $10,000; theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property valued at under $500; and being a persistent felony offender in the first degree.

These charges stem from a March 16 incident during which he is accused of having taken a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu belonging to Amy Shaffer, along with a Shaffer’s purse and its contents.

Furthermore, Turley is accused of having done so while also having two or more felony convictions within the past five years or while he was on parole or similar conditional release from jail.

Chief Deputy Corey Knochel, with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department served as a witness against Turley, and the Commonwealth recommended that Turley be held on a $10,000 bond, with 10 percent being required in cash.
