The Grayson County Public Library will host its second annual Smart Cookie Trivia Challenge this Tuesday, April 12.
The Smart Cookie Trivia Challenge will be held in conjunction with National Library Week on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Grayson County Extension Office, located at 123 Commerce Dr. in Leitchfield.
During National Library Week, the local library strives to host activities for all ages, with the trivia challenge being geared more for adults.
Grayson County Public Library Director Lisa Jones said this year’s Smart Cookie Trivia Challenge is being held inside the Extension Office meeting room to accommodate more participants.
Jones said participation was limited last year due to less space, but this year, as many teams as wish to do so may participate; however, teams are asked to register by midday on Tuesday by calling the library at 270-259-5455.
The trivia challenge is free to play and is open any group of two to five people. Refreshments will be served.
10 questions make a round, and questions will be answered as a team. Participating teams will play on the honor system and keep their own scores. No electronic devices may be used during the trivia challenge.
The trivia challenge is expected to last between an hour and a half to two hours, and, in the case of a tie, the library has established a tie-breaker mechanism, Jones said.
Should the tie-breaker activities fail, a coin toss will decide the winner.
The winner of the Smart Cookie Trivia Challenge will receive the Smart Cookie Award, a travelling award first won by the Grayson County Rotary Club’s team, The Big Wheel Eradicators, last year.
In addition, a plaque on which each year’s winner of the Smart Cookie Trivia Challenge is listed will be permanently on display in the Grayson County Public Library.
