Rough River campground openings, closings

Camping season is right around the corner and the campgrounds at Rough River Lake are about to open.

Axtel: Loops A (13-26 only), B, C, D, F, and G – Opens April 15 and closes Oct. 31.

Loop A (1-12 only) – Opens May 26 (Thursday through Sunday only) and closes Oct. 31.

Loop E (60-66, 68, 70, 72, 74/75, 76, 77-81, 83-90, and 103 only) – Opens May 26 and closes Sept. 5.

Loops E (67, 69, 71, 73, 82, 91-102, & 104 only) H and I:

Opens May 26 and closes May 31.

Opens June 30 and closes July 5.

Opens Sept. 1 and closes Sept. 6.

Laurel Branch: Loop B – Opens March 25 and closes Oct. 31.

(No park attendant March 25-April 29.)

Loop A, C, and D (31, 33-37, 39-44, 52, 53, 55-62 only electric) – Opens April 29 and closes Oct. 31.

Loops C and D (30, 32, 38, 45-51, 54, 59, and 61 only non-electric) – Opens April 29 and closes September 12

Beach will open April 29.

North Fork: Loops B, C, D, sites 53-68, and 81: Opens April 29 and closes Sept. 12.

Loop A and Sites 49-52 and 69-80: Opens April 29 (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only) and closes Sept. 12.

Beach will open April 29.

Cave Creek: Loop A – Not available except for overflow when all other campgrounds are full.

Loop E – Opens April 29 (Friday through Sunday only) through May 26 (then open full-time).

Loops B, C, and E – Opens May 26 and closes Sept. 12.

Loop E – Opens Sept. 12 (Friday through Sunday only) through Oct. 30.

Loops D & F:

Opens May 26 and closes May 31.

Opens June 30 and closes July 5.

Opens Sept. 1 and closes Sept. 6.

Loops B & C: Opens Oct. 28 (Friday through Sunday only) through Oct. 30.

Reserve your campsite online at www.recreation.gov, by calling 1-877-444-6777, at the campground fee booth when park attendant is on duty, or at the Corps of Engineers Project Office for same day reservations when the park attendant is not on duty.
