GCMS Band students participated in the WKU MS Honors Band on Feb. 29. The 7th and 8th graders were selected from students at 35 middle schools in the region. The event, held on WKU’s campus, is a one-day program for high-achieving middle school band students. The students rehearsed for 5 1/2 hours and performed a concert at WKU’s Van Meter hall. Clinicians for the event were Matt Baucum, director of bands at East Hardin MS, and Lois Wiggins, director of bands at Edythe J. Hayes MS in Lexington.
