The popular local bluegrass band, McDonald Road, of Leitchfield, will be returning to the Grayson County Bluegrass Opry on Saturday, March 19, at 6:00 p.m. at the Old Judicial Building (third floor) at 125 East White Oak St. in Leitchfield. Admission to the show is free. Please use the rear entrance to the building and take the elevator to the top floor. And you might want to bring a seat cushion for extra comfort.
McDonald Road performs a variety of traditional and contemporary bluegrass music, with a heavy emphasis on gospel music. The group is especially noted for their four-part harmonies on gospel music. Members of the band include Bryan England (dobro and bass vocal), Roger Dermitt (guitar and baritone vocal), Leon Davis (mandolin and lead vocal), Cary Sego (guitar and tenor vocal), Danny Woosley (banjo), and Larry Shepherd (bass).
Also appearing at this upcoming March show will be the host band, Hickory Grove, of Leitchfield, along with other bands to be announced soon. The Grayson County Bluegrass Opry expresses their appreciation to the local area bluegrass music fans and bands for their continued support of the show, which is held on the third Saturday night of each month.
