The Leitchfield Tourism Commission approved its 2015 audit report last week.
Jeff Carter, CPA, with Taylor, Polson & Company, PSC, out of Glasgow, provided Leitchfield Tourism’s audit report for the fiscal year ending June 2015 during the regularly scheduled, Tuesday, Dec. 22 Tourism Commission meeting.
Carter, who has served as an auditor for the City of Leitchfield for the past number of years, said the audit report was a clean, unmodified opinion, and all information was presented fairly.
Additionally, the auditors had no difficulties performing the audit, found no internal control deficiencies, and identified no compliance matters.
Following Carter’s report, the Tourism Commission voted to approve its audit report for the fiscal year ending June 2015.
In other business:
*Leitchfield Tourism Director Ilsa Johnson said Tourism Commissioner Jose Soto, who was absent from last Tuesday’s meeting, is continuing to look into the details of opening a disc golf course in Leitchfield and will report updates in the near future.
The Tourism Commission also discussed how long business sponsorships for the course could last, whether they be for one year, five years, or a lifetime sponsorship.
*The Tourism Commission approved attributing its contribution to American Legion Post 81 to Leitchfield Tourism Commission.
*Johnson distributed financial interest statements to the tourism commissioners.
*Johnson recognized the Friends of Rough River for donating a miniature cabin to tourism for its Christmas in the Park display.
