Private Pesticide Applicator training

By Whitney Carman - Grayson County Extension Agent for Agriculture & Natural Resources

The Grayson County Extension Office will host a training to obtain a Private Pesticide Applicator license on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Extension Office.

The training is for anyone whose card has expired or who needs a license to purchase pesticides for spraying fruits, vegetables or agricultural crops.

Persons growing fruits and vegetables, etc. for sale and using a non-restricted pesticide, such as Sevin, are required to obtain a pesticide card. This requirement is for the protection of the producer and the consumer.

After completing the training and paying the $2.00 fee, participants will receive a new pesticide card, which is valid for three years.

Please call the Extension Office at (270) 259-3492 to register for this training. You should park in the back of the building and enter in the West entrance door.
