A car crashed into a guardrail on the Western Kentucky Parkway Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 16.

At around 3:40 p.m. on Wednesday, the Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), Leitchfield Fire Department (LFD), and Grayson County Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash near the 101 mile marker of the Western Kentucky Parkway.

Investigating GCSO Sergeant Bryan Hammons said that, prior to the accident, a black Kia Amanti was travelling eastbound on the parkway when the driver, 25-year-old Tchodji Bamoo, fell asleep, and the car crossed the median and crashed into a guardrail.

Bamoo was not injured, according to Hammons.

LFD personnel spread Oil-Dri over the roadway after discovering that the vehicle was leaking antifreeze and cleared the scene at around 4:15 p.m.

The Kia was disabled as a result of the crash and was removed from the scene by Terry’s Towing.
