The Grayson County Bluegrass Opry welcomes the Higher Ground Band, of Bowling Green, and Becky and the Butler County Boys to perform at its upcoming show on Saturday, Dec. 19.
The local bluegrass show is a free event and showtime is 6:00 p.m. and lasts until 8:30 p.m. The performance will be held in the Old Judicial Building’s third floor at 125 East White Oak St. in Leitchfield across from the County Health Department. Guests are reminded to use the rear entrance of the building and use the elevator.
The talented Higher Ground band, which is the current Kentucky State Champion Bluegrass Band, includes Alan Beck on guitar and vocals, Cody Beck on mandolin and fiddle and vocals, Randy Saltsman on banjo and vocals, and Kim Beck plays the bass.
Becky and the Butler County Boys is a four-member Morgantown family band which performs a variety of traditional and contemporary bluegrass music. Band members include Jarrod Jacobs (guitar and vocals), his wife, Becky, (bass), and teenage sons, Aaron (mandolin and vocals) and Luke (fiddle and vocals). The band has performed frequently on the stages of the Rosine Barn Jamboree and the Rough River State Park Lodge Bluegrass Jam.
This month’s show at the Grayson County Bluegrass Opry is also featuring the popular Leitchfield group McDonald Road Band, with their beautiful bluegrass quartet harmonies. In addition, the host band for the local event is the Hickory Grove Band.
