The Grayson County Bluegrass Opry has just announced its lineup of performing bands for the upcoming show on Saturday, Nov. 21.
The local bluegrass show is a free event and showtime is 6:00 p.m. and lasts until 8:30 p.m. The performance is held in the Old Judicial Building’s third floor at 125 East White Oak St. in Leitchfield across from the County Health Department. Guests are reminded to use the rear entrance of the building and use the elevator.
This month’s show is featuring an outstanding family bluegrass band from the local area known as Becky and the Butler County Boys. The four-member Morgantown group performs a variety of traditional and contemporary bluegrass music. Band members include Jarrod Jacobs (guitar and vocals), his wife, Becky (bass), and their teenage sons, Aaron (mandolin and vocals) and Luke (fiddle and vocals). The band has been performing for the last couple of years and has performed at shows in Owensboro, Hardinsburg, Rosine, Leitchfield, and Rough River Lodge.
Also performing on this show will be the Higher Ground Band, of Bowling Green, which is the current Kentucky State Champion Bluegrass Band. The Higher Ground Band includes Alan Beck on guitar and vocals, Cody Beck on mandolin and fiddle and vocals, Randy Saltsman on banjo and vocals, and Kim Beck plays the bass.
A Leitchfield band, McDonald Road, will be playing as well as the Bluegrass Opry’s host band, Hickory Grove.
