Trick-or-treat, Grayson County!

Opportunities abound for the Grayson County community to celebrate the spookiest holiday of the year, Halloween, over the next week.

Leitchfield

The City of Leitchfield will hold its official trick-or-treating hours from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, and its annual Halloween Safe Spot will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Grayson County Fairgrounds that night.

Clarkson

The City of Clarkson’s official trick-or-treating hours will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Oct. 31. Clarkson will also host its first Halloween celebration in the new city hall building, located at 213 Millerstown St., that night, as well.

Caneyville

The City of Caneyville’s trick-or-treating hours will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31. Additionally, Caneyville will host a community-wide Halloween Safe Spot that night inside the old Caneyville High School gym from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Goodies will be given out, and costumes will be judged at the Caneyville Safe Spot.

Community

Clarkson and Caneyville Elementary Schools will host their Fall Festivals on Friday, Oct. 23 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Clarkson Elementary School is located at 310 Millerstown St. in Clarkson. Caneyville Elementary School is located at 521 East Maple St. in Caneyville.

Rough River Dam State Resort Park will hold a Halloween Spooktacular from Monday, Oct. 26 through Wednesday, Oct. 28 at the Axtel and Laurel Branch campgrounds. Events include a Fright your Site contest, Trunk-or-Treating, a Spooktacular costume contest, and a Juice up your Jack-O-Lantern contest.

The Grayson County Business Boosters will host a Trick or Treat Spectacular during its Fall Expo on Thursday, Oct. 29 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Centre on Main in Leitchfield. Lawler Elementary School will host its Fall Festival on Friday, Oct. 30 from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Lawler Elementary School is located at 100 Charlie Crain Ln. in Leitchfield.

The Leitchfield Peddler, located at 311 West White Oak St., will host trick-or-treating from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 31. The store owner and vendors will be handing out candy in the hope of making this year’s event even bigger than last year’s.

Big Clifty United Methodist Church’s youth outreach program will host Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 31 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 211 Main St. in Big Clifty. Hot dogs, drinks, and candy will be provided.

First Baptist Leitchfield will host a Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 106 East Walnut St. There will be free inflatables, candy, popcorn, and more.
