The Grayson County Historical Society will be hosting a unique and “memorable” event this weekend at the Jack Thomas House.
A Bean Supper and Ole Time Story Swap will kick off at 2 p.m. at the group’s headquarters in the historic Jack Thomas House located on East Main Street in Leitchfield.
Beans and cornbread will be provided to visitors, and everyone is encouraged to bring – and share – stories of their families’ Grayson County pasts.
The Historical Society’s goal is to record the event in order to preserve the oral folk history of the area for future generations to enjoy.
Other upcoming Historical Society events include the Christmas Open House on Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Jack Thomas House from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and the Tea Party and Home Tour hosted at the same location on Sunday, Dec. 6 from 12:30 p.m. until 5 p.m.
