A new taste in town

“BOLD SINCE BURGER #1” is the theme of the newest restaurant to open its doors in Grayson County.

On Monday, October 12, Rally’s will open its drive-thru for the citizens of the county.

The location of the restaurant is between the Centre on Main and Rite Aid on Main Street.

Rally’s Leitchfield is owned by Franchisees Rajiv Johar and Jerry Holt. They own two other Rally’s in Glasgow and Campbellsville.

“We are excited to be here and looking forward to bringing some great tasting food to Leitchfield! We have hired over 40 great team members and we invite YOU to come eat,” said Holt.

Holt went on to tell how Rally’s found its home in Grayson County. “We were approached by the mayor [William Thomason] and Dudley, Industrial Foundation Consultant with the idea of turning this building into a Rally’s,” said Holt. “When we came and measured the building it was the perfect size and the city already owned the building.” The rest, as they say, is history.

The restaurant- which serves fully seasoned and made to order burgers, fries, sodas, handmade shakes, chicken wings, and its “famous seasoned fries” will be open a ready for business at 10 a.m. Monday morning.

Rally’s Hamburgers, Inc. first fired up the grill and started cooking in 1985 in Louisville a year later a similar restaurant was born. Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc. burst onto the burger scene with their over-the-top flavors in 1986 in Mobile, Alabama

Checkers & Rally’s restaurants were both born out of the idea that a bland and flavorless burger was downright bad and that Americans everywhere deserved a better tasting burger — one that was unexpectedly bold, made-to-order and priced at a value that was hard to beat.

Founded by experienced foodies with a renegade spirit, both the Checkers & Rally’s unique double drive-thru concept, with its over-the-top checkerboard squares, chrome styling, red neon signs and of course the food, was an instant hit. These two new burger experiences were hot, fresh and served with a smile. People were hooked, and the world of cookie cutter corporate burger establishments was about to change.

After successfully opening and maintaining 200+ restaurant chain businesses in several Midwestern and Southeastern states, the two combined in 1999. Checkers & Rally’s brought their passion for big flavor together.

This successful merger made Checkers & Rally’s the largest double drive thru restaurant chain in the country. Which in turn would only help bolster both the Checkers & Rally’s brands on all fronts. Today Checkers & Rally’s have more than 800 restaurants open in the United States. And with the hard working, can-do attitude that every Checkers & Rally’s employee and franchisee brings to work with them every day, we’re only certain to grow even more.
