On Saturday, Oct. 3, the Clinton Street Church of Christ hosted its fourth annual Walk4Water event at the James D. Beville Park.

46 walkers, composed of adults and children, showed their solidarity with the poor in underdeveloped countries, who on average walk a distance of four miles each day to collect contaminated water.

In addition to the walk, over $10,700 was raised to fund the digging of a clean water well for a third-world community ravaged by water-borne diseases.

Along with a host of individual donors who supported this effort, a number of local businesses and churches supplied financial support. The Clinton Street church would like to thank these for their generosity: Blain Distributing. Buckles, Travis, VanMeter and Hart. Cecilian Bank. Clarkson Community Church. Clayton Watkins Construction Company. Cross Point Church. D& B Productions. Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home. Fleener’s Home Planning. For Myself Florist. Lee Farms. Lowe’s Concrete. Midstate Car Craft. Saint Joseph Catholic Church. Wilson and Muir Bank. Worley Printing. Yeaman Church of Christ.

Donations can still be made to this local drive by visiting walk4water.org and scrolling down to Leitchfield, KY. Plans are being made by the Clinton Street church to host its next Walk4Water event in September 2016.
