A Leitchfield man was arrested on Monday, Sept. 28 after fleeing the scene of a wreck.

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) responded to a wreck at around the 105 mile marker of the Western Kentucky Parkway on Monday afternoon at just before 3 p.m. Officers found a heavily damaged black Dodge pick-up truck next to the rock wall that runs along the parkway.

The truck suffered significant damage to both the driver’s side and passenger’s side, and was left abandoned along the parkway’s eastbound emergency lane.

After running the vehicle’s plates, officers launched a search for the owner of the truck and soon apprehended 46-year-old Cary R. Alexander, of Leitchfield.

Alexander was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drugs, second offense; and leaving the scene of an accident.

He is currently lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center.

GCSO Deputy Clay Boone served as the officer in charge at the scene, and was assisted by Sheriff Norman Chaffins and Lieutenant Tony Willen.
