Kenneth Green, M.D. has been named the first ever Chief Medical Officer at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center (TLRMC) Chief Executive Officer Wayne Meriwether, MHA, officially announced Green’s appointment at the September TLRMC Board of Directors meeting, as well as the most recent Grayson County Chamber of Commerce membership luncheon.
“The role of a Chief Medical Officer has become one of increasing importance in most larger hospitals, and now it is not unusual for smaller, rural hospitals like ours to have someone in this role,” said Meriwether. “Our board and medical staff came to this conclusion at their strategic planning retreat late last year and made this one of their top strategic priorities. As a long standing member of the TLRMC medical staff and someone that is well respected by his peers, Dr. Green is an excellent choice as TLRMC’s first Chief Medical Officer.”
In his role as Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Green will work with TLRMC’s senior leadership, as well as its medical staff and Board of Directors, in the planning, development, and evaluation of hospital programs and initiatives.
Green will also oversee activities related to the medical staff; serve on the Medical Executive, Performance Improvement, and Patient Quality and Satisfaction committees; and be directly involved in the physician recruitment, credentialing, and retention processes.
“While serving as a liaison between the medical staff and hospital administration, Dr. Green will also play a vital role in improving patient quality, safety, and physician alignment,” said Meriwether. “Having a CMO will ultimately benefit our physicians, staff, and, most importantly, our patients.”
Green spoke humbly in regards to his new role with the local hospital.
“I give God all the credit for my accomplishments through life thus far, including my family and their support,” Green said. “May God grant me resolve and wisdom for this new position.”
Kenneth Green and his wife, Patsy, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary in January; and they take pride in their children, Andrew, Jonathan and his wife, Rachel, and Adam and his wife, Kelly, and three grandchildren, Andrea, Landyn, and Logan.
Kenneth Green recently celebrated his 30th year in private medical practice in Grayson County. A graduate of the University of Kentucky medical school, he completed his internship at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL, and his residency at the University of Alabama at Huntsville.
Kenneth Green is certified by the American Board of Family Practice, and he will continue seeing patients in his office located on the first floor of the Kelley Medical Complex on the TLRMC campus, located at 910 Wallace Ave. in Leitchfield.
