Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center is inviting the public to join local healthcare providers in celebrating National Healthcare Quality Week.

The local hospital will mark the week by hosting the first annual “Quality of Care” Poster Presentation on Tuesday, Oct. 20 and Thursday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on both days, in the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center (TLRMC) cafeteria meeting room.

The Poster Presentation is free to the public.

National Healthcare Quality Week highlights the influence of quality professionals in improving healthcare delivery systems and achieving improved patient care outcomes, TLRMC Director of Planning and Marketing Bill Oldham said in a news release.

The week is held by the National Association For Healthcare Quality (NAHQ), a professional organization that shares knowledge and represents healthcare quality in all settings and specialty areas.

The Twin Lakes “Quality of Care” Poster Presentation event will recognize the contributions of quality professionals in delivering expertise to the healthcare systems of Grayson County, Oldham said.

“We would like to share what efforts are being made in the safe delivery of patient care and open the doors to the resources of our community safety nets in transition of care,” said TLRMC Director of Quality Michele Vincent, APRN. “Patient care does not end with the discharge of patients from the hospital.”

In addition to the “Quality” presentations, free popcorn and a chance to win a door prize will be provided.

“We stand behind our vision statement, which pledges that we strive to be recognized by the people we serve as the provider of choice for their health needs and as a leading force of progressive change within our community,” said Vincent. “I hope the public will come visit and see our best practices regarding patient care and improving patient outcomes.”

NAHQ is the nation’s leading organization for quality professionals in healthcare. Founded in 1976, NAHQ has more than 6,500 individual members and 8,600 Certified Professionals in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).

The association’s goal is to promote the continuous improvement of quality in healthcare by providing educational and developmental opportunities for professionals at all management levels and within all healthcare settings.
