An exciting night of bluegrass music is coming up this week at the Grayson County Bluegrass Opry. In addition, the Opry is announcing a change of dates as its July show will be held on the third Friday night instead of its normal third Saturday night.
The Opry show is scheduled for Friday night, July 15 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Old Judicial Building’s third floor at 125 East Main Street in Leitchfield. Admission is free. Please use the rear entrance to the building and take the elevator to the top floor. And bring along a seat cushion for extra comfort.
The Bluegrass Opry event on Friday night will be part of a big weekend of activities in Leitchfield during the Freedom Festival and Twin Lakes Fiddlers Contest. By moving its show to Friday night, the Opry will avoid competing and conflicting with the Fiddling Festival on Saturday.
A great lineup of five bluegrass bands have already committed to perform on the Opry stage for the July 15 show, including the McDonald Road Band, of Leitchfield, Higher Ground, of Bowling Green, Becky & the Butler County Boys, of Morgantown, Sassybrown Bluegrass band, of Evansville, Indiana, and the Hickory Grove Band, of Leitchfield.
