School is out, and the Extension Office has some great summer cooking classes for kids!
The Summer Cooking Savvy class series will be held on Thursday mornings in July from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon on the following dates: July 7, 14, 21 and 28.
Kids aged 12 through 16 are invited to this free series for some summer kitchen fun and hands-on experience in the kitchen.
This year’s theme is The Art of Baking and will include instruction on Quick Breads, Cookies, Cakes, and Pies and Cobblers!
Also covered in the sessions will be how to read and interpret food labels, measuring skills, the correct way to read a recipe, the meaning of portion control, and much more!
Kids will have a great time learning to prepare desserts and breads for their friends and family.
Space is limited and advanced registration is required by July 1 by calling (270) 259-3492.
All classes are taught by Grayson County Nutrition Education Program Assistant Robin Felix.
You should park in the back of the building and enter in the West entrance door.
