The Leitchfield Lions held their April 28 meeting at the Grayson County Detention Center.

Chief Deputy Jailer Jason Woosley issued the invitation, and he and the Detention Center provided a delicious meal. 20 members and two visitors were present for the meeting and meal. After dinner, State Representative C.B. Embry spoke on the happenings in the legislature. Embry will not be serving our District next year, and we will miss him. Thank you, Rep. Embry for all you have done for our county.

During our business session, we accepted a new member, Jessica Porter, into our club. Porter will be inducted soon. The club also set a date to help Wings on a Prayer to do some much needed upkeep on the property. All members who can will be going on May 6 from 4 p.m to 8 p.m. to give a helping hand.

After the business session closed, Woosley gave a summary of the different faucets of the center. It was amazing to hear all the aid they give to our county. A tour of the facility was given by Bo Thorpe, of the GCDC. Thanks, GCDC for all you do!
