Baxter charged with sexual abuse of minor

A Leitchfield man was indicted in Grayson Circuit Court on charges of sexually abusing a minor under the age of 12.

Jason Baxter, 35, of Sunbeam Road in Leitchfield, is facing two charges of sexual abuse in the first degree, one charge of sexual abuse in the first degree of a victim under the age of 12, and one charge of unlawful transaction with a minor in the first degree.

Baxter’s charges stem from incidents which allegedly occurred between early 2008 and 2013, during which time he is accused of having sexual contact with a juvenile who was between 11 and 17 years old during the time the alleged abuse occurred.

The Commonwealth recommended that Baxter be held on a $50,000 cash bond. He is also not allowed to have any contact with the purported victim who is now 19 years old.

Also indicted this month in Grayson Circuit Court were two men and one woman who are accused of manufacturing methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Amy S. Lyons, 25, along with co-defendants Curtis T. Hayse, Jr., 27, and Anthony G. Blunk, 27, all of South Clinton Street in Leitchfield were charged as a result of the same Feb. 1 incident.

Blunk additionally was indicted for being a persistent felony offender in the first degree.

Lyons and Hayse were each assigned a $10,000 cash bond, while Blunk was given a $25,000 bond.
