The Miss Hometown Christmas Pageant has a giving spirit this year.
A portion of the proceeds from the annual event will go to help support the Grayson County Community Alliance Food Bank.
With recent cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), more and more Grayson County residents are relying on the food bank for assistance.
A portion of contestant entry fees will be donated to the food bank. Admission to the pageant will be $2.00, or a donation of three canned goods.
The pageant will consist of eight different age categories, ranging from newborn to 21 years of age. Registration forms can be obtained at the Centre on Main, the Grayson County Middle School, or can be completed on site the day of the pageant.
Winners of the pageant will be invited to ride in the annual Hometown Christmas Parade on December 7.
The pageant will be held on Saturday, November 23 at the Grayson County Middle School. Registration is at 11, and the pageant begins at 12.
