Kenzie Renfrow of Grayson County High School comes down with a rebound during a tournament game at Hopkins County Central High School on Thursday against Madisonville North Hopkins.

The Madisonville North Hopkins High School varsity basketball team nearly doubled the score of Grayson County in the opening round of the United Mine Workers of America Lady Storm's Invitational at Hopkins County Central High School on Thursday.

North won the basketball game 64-33 against Grayson, bringing the Lady Cougars to 5-5 on the season.

The Maroons jumped out to a quick start scoring 24 points in the first period against Grayson County.

Games continued Friday and will also continue today at Hopkins County Central. The champion will be determined by best overall record, with tie breakers' being head-to-head games and least points allowed in three contests.

Laura Vincent scored 10 points, and Rachael Snyder added six points for Grayson.
