The new Grayson County Fiscal Court held its first meeting on Monday and, per the recommendation of Judge Executive Kevin Henderson, will now meet twice per month instead of once.

The Fiscal Court will now meet on the first and third Tuesdays of every month at 5 p.m. in the Grayson County Government Building on East White Oak Street in Leitchfield.

Grayson County Judge Executive Kevin Henderson said the decision to add a second meeting each month is that, previously, the county has had to pay late fees on bills that have come in through the Grayson County Detention Center and other agencies because the court only met once per month.

"We just want to be sure that we do not have to pay late fees," Henderson said.

Additionally, Fiscal Court meetings were previously held at 4 p.m., but the county has moved them to 5 p.m. to allow the public more opportunity to attend.
