Grayson County Clerk Charlotte Willis will add one Saturday each month to their operational hours beginning in February. Shown is Willis next to the new hours.

Starting in February, the County Clerk's Office will once again offer Saturday hours.

According to Grayson County Clerk Charlotte Willis, around seven years have passed since Saturday hours were offered and one of her campaign promises was to bring that back.

Willis said she would like to offer the extra hours on a trial basis. The County Clerk's Office will be open on the second Saturday of each month from 8-11 a.m.

However, the other government offices needed for titles and registrations will not be open. She said that sometimes there are issues with a registration and they will need to call Frankfort, but Frankfort is not open on Saturdays and some of the renewal cards say to contact the PVA office for payment amount, and it is also closed on Saturdays.

Only half of the staff will be working on Saturdays, so they will only be working six Saturdays per year. In order for the employees to keep the same number of hours, the employees who are scheduled to work on Saturday will leave work half a day early on Thursday.

Weekly office hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and 8-11 a.m. every second Saturday.

Willis also intends to create a Facebook page for the Clerk's office to inform the public of closings and other important information.
