Tony Clemons, of Clarkson, was injured in an accident that occured on Peonia Wednesday after his tractor was struck by a Jeep.

A man was injured Wednesday after a Jeep ran into a tractor causing it to overturn.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office (GCSO), Clarkson Police, Clarkson Fire Department and Grayson County EMS were dispatched to the scene of an injury accident on HWY 88, involving a vehicle and a tractor at around 3:00 p.m. on June 6.

According to GCSO Deputy Taylor Logsdon, Jessica Chavez, 30, of Radcliff, was travelling north in a silver Jeep that collided with an older model red tractor, driven by Tony Clemons, 51, of Clarkson, at the 4500 block of Peonia Road in Clarkson.

Logsdon said that the Chavez tried to pass the blue tractor that was in front of her and didn't realize there was another tractor in front of that tractor.

According to Logsdon, Clemons' tractor was in front of the blue tractor and was making a left-hand turn as Chavez was making the pass.

Logdson said the Jeep then struck the red tractor, causing the tractor to practically break in half, trapping Clemons beneath it.

First responders were able to extract Clemons from beneath the tractor, and he was transported by EMS to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center with injuries to the lower half of his body.

Chavez and her juvenile passenger were uninjured.
